It's been a short but busy week here at school!
What's been happening in classes:
Yesterday, the children all had their photographs taken by a professional photographer. The photographer complimented the children on their wonderful behaviour. It is brilliant this positive demonstration of our school values is being recognised by visitors to our school- well done everyone. We are looking forward to seeing the pictures in the coming week.
Oak class have started looking at a new book in English called 'The Golden Cage'. The story has quite an unexpected twist! Indy said, "It was very dark and every page got more intense until her hair grew to her toes!” Evie said, “There were a lot of people having their heads chopped off!”
Hazel class have learnt about British Artist Jill Townsley, who created large sculptures using everyday objects. They explored how she could have made up sculpture 'Spoons'. Siersha said, "You could make lots of different shapes but it was difficult because the spoons were big." Molly said, "It was quite hard to make the shape you wanted because the rubber bands kept falling off the spoons."
Apple class have learnt about St George and why we have St George's Day. Their work for the next week will be based on dragons and the children have been learning the story of the Paper Bag Princess. They love learning actions to match the text and using a story map. Piper said, "It is fun doing the actions and shouting HEY DRAGON!" Lissie said, "I really like acting the story."
School policies:
All of our school and Trust policies can be found here on the school website. We are in the process of reviewing and updating this section of the website. For example, we are updating our attendance policy to ensure all sections are really clear. We will keep you updated on our progress.
