Football Club
Our after-school Football Club takes place every Tuesday at the nearby paddock, just a short walk from the school.
The club offers children a fun and engaging way to improve their football skills through a mix of drills and friendly matches.
Children work on developing key techniques, teamwork, and sportsmanship under the guidance of Meg. The children have the opportunity to participate in matches against other local primary schools, fostering both fitness and enjoyment.
Spanish Club
¡Hola!
Our Spanish clubs are fun extra curricular activities within primary schools in small groups of up to 12 children.
The La Jolie Ronde programmes they'll benefit from progressive programs that ensure over time they are capable reading, writing and speaking Spanish independently.
Enrolment is by the term with lessons costing from £6.50 per class. Activity books with audio app access are £20. We charge a deposit when you enrol each term then the balance by invoice once term has commenced. Please click on the image to go to the Todo el Mundo website for more information.
Art club
Art Club at Swainswick is weekly during term-time. We enjoy an outdoor studio (Anna's Cabin), under a pine tree and with surrounding views of the valley and work inside and out.
The children are encouraged to develop their own artistic styles and are taught to use a variety of media: drawing, clay, watercolours, gouache, natural materials, to express ideas and develop composition and design. We exhibit at school, in the church and locally - it is the children’s choice whether they wish to show their work, keep it private, or take it home. In this way I encourage ownership and independence that will stay with them on their artistic journey.
Mondays 3.15 - 4.30 pm. Years 1 - 3 children.
Tuesdays 3.20 -4.30 p.m. Years 4 - 6 children.
There is maximum capacity of ten children per session.
Multi-sports
The Multi-Sports Club takes place every Monday at the nearby paddock, just a short walk from the school. It offers children the chance to experience a variety of sports, including dodgeball, tennis, volleyball, cricket, rounders, chaos tag etc. Each session concludes with free play, where children can enjoy activities like bouncing on the trampoline, swinging on the tyre swing, or climbing on the monkey bars, providing a fun and active end to the day. The cost is £5 per session. To sign up, please contact Meg directly at Megan.wills@swainswick.bwmat.org.
Music Lessons
As the children progress further up the school they have the opportunity to take part in music lessons during school hours.
Children are offered guitar, keyboard, drumming, and singing lessons.
These lessons are taught by George Wilson and Jamie Williams, and are paid for by parents.
In addition, children have music lessons, with each class accessing this weekly throughout the year. These are funded by a generous donation from the Swainswick Educational Trust.
