Welcome to Apple Class!
Hello, my name is Mrs Charles and I am the class teacher for Apple Class.
I hope that this information is helpful and informs you of some of our Class routines.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. I am always available for a quick chat between 8:30 and 8:50 am and again at home time. If you have anything more important that you wish to discuss please ask for an appointment time.
Please contribute to the WOW board
This board celebrates all the exciting skills and learning that your child is developing at home. With your support we will be able to develop a rich and detailed journal of your child’s learning during their first 2 years at Swainswick School. All you need to do is take a WOW star from the plastic wallet on the display board, write about your child’s new skill or interest on the star and stick it next to their photo. THANK YOU!
Every child needs a named PE kit in school at all times. The school kit is a navy Swainswick t-shirt, navy shorts or jogging bottoms and daps. All children with long hair must tie it up for PE.
Thank you very much to everyone who supports the school reading programme by reading with their child on a regular basis. It really does help to develop their skills and confidence. Could you please make sure that your child’s book and reading diary are transported to and from school in a book bag – to keep them clean and safe. Book bags are available from the school office.
Show and Tell
Every child in Class 1 will get the opportunity to share their ‘Show and Tell’. A reminder list will appear on the door at the beginning of each week. It would be lovely if you could support them at home- by encouraging them to think about what interesting things they can tell us about their chosen item/idea/memory.
Apart from topic related items and show and tell toys- we discourage the children from bringing in their toys from home.
Thank you all for your continued support of the healthy snacks rule. We also provide a piece of fruit for every child every afternoon. Please remember NO NUTS for snacks or lunches.
As the children always have access to the outside play area could you make sure that your child has a warm winter coat, gloves and wellies during the colder months so that they can play comfortably and happily outside.
